Performance Properties of PP resins

Performance Properties of PP resins

Polypropylene (PP) has many properties and performances, including:

  • Chemical resistance: PP is resistant to many chemicals, including acids, bases, and organic solvents. It's only corroded by concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid.

  • Mechanical properties: PP is strong, tough, and has good impact resistance. It's also resistant to fatigue and heat.

  • Electrical properties: PP has good high-frequency insulation performance and a high dielectric constant. It's also suitable for use as electrical accessories.

  • Thermal properties: PP has a high melting temperature, making it suitable for use in high temperature applications. However, it can melt or deform at high temperatures.

  • Moisture barrier properties: PP has excellent moisture barrier properties, making it suitable for use in packaging applications.

  • Wear resistance: PP has good wear resistance.

  • UV resistance: PP is very sensitive to ultraviolet light.

  • Recyclability: PP is a highly recyclable material.

  • Biocompatibility: PP is generally considered biocompatible.

  • Odor: PP is generally odorless.

PP can be modified with additives for specific properties or applications
