Datuk Ir. A. Sani Karim

Datuk Sani (6th June 1954 ), is a Civil and Structural Engineer by profession who started his working career in the Urban Development Authority (UDA) in August 1976, and rose to become the Engineering Head. He was involved in more than 40 housing and commercial development projects in UDA.

He had also served as a Director and Head of the Civil & Structural Section of Kumarasivam Tan & Ariffin Sdn Bhd in June 1982, and subsequently as GM (Property) of Island & Peninsular Berhad in the late 1980s before setting up his own engineering consultancy company, A Sani & Associates Sdn Bhd in 1990.

He is both a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (FIEM) and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK (FICE).

As an entrepreneur, Datuk Sani has many varied investments in the manufacturing activities from rubber to confectionary products, sports facilities contracting and operating of sports centres via his investment holding company, Fairmont Ventures or direct investment.

He has sat on the Board of many public and private companies.

For extracurricular activities, Datuk Sani served as Vice President of the World Squash Federation (WSF), President and Emeritus President of the Asian Squash Federation (ASF), and President of the Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM).

For Golf/Club activities, he served as President of both the Royal Lake Club Kuala Lumpur (RLC) and Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS). For 8 years, he also served as the founding Malaysian Patron of the World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC).

With the National Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Datuk Sani served as the Deputy and Vice President during the period 2005 to 2013 and was a member of National Sports Advisory Panel (SAP) from 2008 till 2013. Datuk led the 352 person Malaysian Contingent as Chef De Mission in the 15th Asian Games in Doha, Qatar in 2006.

Datuk Sani was awarded SRAM’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 and was inducted into both the Olympic Council of Malaysia’s and Asian Squash Federation’s Halls of Fame in 2016.

Patrick Chan

Managing Director

Mr. Patrick Chan (29th May 1947) Managing Director, is a polymer industry pioneer with more than 45 years of experience. He is the director of Buizon Industries Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He works in various functional roles in many organizations within the private and public sector from manufacturing to distribution of PVC artificial leather cloth, PVC sheeting, safety flooring and chemical additives to the PVC and Rubber product industries. He is actively involved as a technical consultant in manufacturing processes, research and products development for various companies in Malaysia, Indonesia, India, China, Sri Lanka.

Patrick Chan started his career 50 years ago as a Polymer Chemist in Nylex Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He was employed in various functional roles in many organizations up to board level, both within the private and public sectors. He has wide exposure in the manufacturing and distribution of PVC artificial leathercloth, sheeting, safety floor and chemical additives to the PVC and Rubber product industries.

He is mainly involved in consultancy work on manufacturing processes improvements, research and product development in various companies in Malaysia, Indonesia, India, China and Sri Lanka.

Paul Teh

Executive Director

Mr. Paul Teh (11th November 1954) Executive Director, rubber technologist by training, started in business in 1981. He is currently the Managing Director and co-founder of FMV (M) Sdn Bhd, an Investment Holding company in Malaysia. He has over 40 years’ experience in entrepreneurship development on start-ups. Paul carries with him a wealth of knowledge in operational and strategic planning for the growth of new start-up companies, principally SMEs.

He has many years of experience managing business in the manufacturing and global distribution of EPDM sports granules, polyurethane coatings, binders and thermoplastic elastomers. In 2017, he has been instrumental in divesting his manufacturing business to a Global MNC sports granules manufacturer and sports facilities installation group.

Paul carries with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in operational and strategic planning to assist the growth of new start-up companies, principally SMEs.

Upon retirement, Paul spends his time in identifying passive investments focusing primarily on the rubber and plastic product industries.

Yamuna Munusamy

Technical / Research Director

Associate Professor Dr. Yamuna Ph.D.(14th December 1982) Technical Director, is a researcher attached to Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) since 2010. She is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology. She also served as the Head of Department of Petrochemical Engineering from 2010 to 2018. Her research works are mainly focused on Green polymers, Polymer composites and Polymer recycling. She has collaborated with many companies in the polymer industries serving as their technical consultant and research associate. Most of her projects with the industries are related to development of green technology and solution related to waste management and reuse of waste.
